uk europe class association
The best and most versatile single handed dinghy in the world - the Europe.
The Europe is a one-person dinghy designed in Belgium in 1960 by Alois Roland as a class legal Moth dinghy. The design later changed into its own one-design class. It's probably most famous for being the Olympic single-handed women's class from 1992 to 2008 with Shirley Robertson winning Gold at Sydney 2000. Everyone who recants this will also tell you it's a proper little boat, much better than the Radial and far more appropriate. The Europe remains a very popular class on the continent and there is a strong class in the UK. It's widely sailed by men, women and youth sailors with a very even spread throughout the UK fleet.
